Mr. Tareq moves on to introduce the third and fourth verse of Sultani Yakah Longa on the Oud
Tareq:
Hello my name is tareq al jundi from izif.com. today in lesson no. 3 we will continue with the third and fourth verse of Sultan Yakah Longa by Riyad al sunbati.
Let us look here what we have in the beginning of verse no. 3, we have Re with duration=2 , which is Re Re, and there is this small notation which is called grace note, a little ornament. Now we have here written # Do Re, it will be like this, stealing its time from the note, like this *play* 2,*play*, one pick movement, *Play* like this, it will be Do Re like this *Play* , as if it was one two one two *Play*, its duration isnegligible but it is there. Then ta fa ti es ti ta fa ti es ti, this third bar is repeated, which will sound like this Re Re Re Do Si Es re Re Do Si, and instead of Es we can play the bass cord which is Re, which will sound like this 1 2 *Play*.
So here we have the third bar Re Do Si Es Re Re Do Si Es re, repeated twice. Now let us continue ta fa ti ta fa ti ta fa ti tati ta tifi tati ta tifi tati ta tifi ta tifi ta fa tifi tati tati and repeat. Let us try to play it from the top, 1 2 *Play* es *Play*I will try to read it, from the top while counting with notes , 1 2 Do Re Do Re Re Do Si Es Re Re Do Si Es Re Re Do Si Si La Sol Si La Sol Fa Mi Sol Re Mi Fa fa Fa Do Re Mi Mi Mi Si Do Re Re Mi Re Do Si La Sol La Si Do. This will sound like this if I look at bar no 4, Re Do Si Si La Sol *Play* Ta fa ti ta fa ti, next Si La Sol Fa Mi *Play* we stopped at Sol, this Sol is Ta tifi tati ta tifi tati ta tifi ta tifi ta fa tifi , this will sound as if it was Ta tifi or we can play ta es tifi, like this Sol Es *Play* notice how I played the half position from Re tifi, *Play* tati *Play*, this Fa I also played down not up, because it will be a bit tricky *Play* so I played it down, then ta tifi *Play* , tati *Play*, ♭ Mi here I played it with the first *Play*, ta tifi *Play*
I want to play it, with the first and second repeat non stop, 1 2 *Play* chorus *play* we played the third verse twice then chorus twice. We can not repeat the chorus twice after each verse, we can only repeat the first chorus twice, and each time we repeat it once, so we don’t play the prima, we play the seconda.
Now let us move on to the fourth verse.
