Learn how to play the third and fourth verses of Samaee Hijaz Kar Kurd
Tareq:
Hello my name is Tareq Al Jundi from i3zif.com. today in lesson number 9 we will play the third and fourth verse of Samaee Hijaz Kar Kurd by Tatious Afandi. Let us look at the third verse, what do we have here 1 2 3 La Sol La Fa Mi Re Do Re Si Do Rest Do Re Re Mi Do Re Do Si La Si La Si Re Do Si La Sol Fa Sol La Si Do Si La Mi Re Do Do , as you can see also it ascended to the peak, many transitions occurred to break out of the main scale and soften the note. Let us try to play it 1 2 3 *Play* I will try to play it with a bit or ornamentation and pulsing 1 2 3 *Play*after that I must go back to chorus.
Moving on to the fourth verse, 6/8, as I said, same technique as if I was reading the scale with 4 as a denominator, now we are reading with 8 as a denominator. I included the picks because 6/8 is divided into 2 units, each unit consists of 3 strikes, like this 1 2 3 1 2 3 or 1 2 3 4 5 6 . listen to the first part of this verse to get a feel of it *Play* this was the first part. Now the second part *Play* first we will play it slowly, it sounds like this *Play*1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 *Play*like I have written the picks in this form.
Why am writing ♭ Si down and Do up? When it comes to this unit, which is 1 2 3 1 2 3 or 6/8, the beginning of the unit must be down. For example if I had written 1 2 3 *Play* down up down and we have examples for this. If I had noir note then croche, the noir is down and the next is up for speed purposes. It will be like this, let us try to read it Si Do Re Do Si La Sol Fa Sol La Si Do 1 2 3 1 2 3 1 2 3 which is Do Re Mi Fa Mi Re with an extension, Re Do Si Mi Re Do Do 1 2 3 Sol La Si La Si La Si Do Re Do Si La Sol Fa Re Do Si La Sol Fa Mi Re Re Do Do 1 2 3 , let us try to play it 1 2 3 1 2 3 *Play* 1 2 3 1 2 3 *Play* 1 2 3 1 2 3 *Play*1 2 3 1 2 3 continue Do Si La Sol Fa Mi Fa Sol La Sol Si La 1 2 3 Sol La La Si Si Do Re Do Si Do 1 2 3 1 2 3 Fa Mi Re Do Si La Sol Fa Fa 1 2 3 Mi Fa Sol La Sol Fa Mi Re Re Do Do 1 2 3 and repeat. Let us try to play it 1 2 3 4 5 6 *Play*1 2 3 *Play* 1 2 3 1 2 3 *Play* 1 2 3 1 2 3 *Play* then back to the chorus which is repetitive.
This will be faster, each time we play it because the fourth verse is historically considered a dancing tune, to break the intensity of the slow 10/8 tempo in the previous period.
I will try to play the fourth verse non stop *Play* now slow down to move to chorus *Play* this concluded Samaee Hijaz Kar Kurd by Tatius Afandi you will listen to it fully in the next lesson, you will find it without any interruptions, and you can check out the ornaments I used, at this stage you can employ and imitate some of them. See you in lesson number 10.
