The instructor starts with new exercises for the pick and the hands on Ajam scale. He alters speed and talks about reversed pick. The instructor applies on Al Bayat .scale __ Hello, my name is Tareq Al Jundi from i3zif.com. today we will take in our 4th lesson more exercises on the left and right hand and how to synchronize them together, in order to help with playing the Longa and increase our speed. Let us look at the exercise we have on Ajam scale, it is all written in Ta Fa Tifi, and the last part is Ta. It is very important to look at the logic of the exercise, as we see, the first Ta Fa TiFi starts with Do, the second Ta Fa TiFi starts in Re, the next in Mi, Fa, Sol . then the treble starts in Do, descending to Si, La, Sol, Fa, Mi and finishes in Do. Look how the first part of Ta Fa Ti Fi is Do Re Mi Fa, I start from Do and ascend 4 notes, then I go to Re and ascend 4 notes, Re Mi Fa Sol, the second part of the first bar, then Mi Fa Sol La, Fa Sol La Si, Sol La Si Do, the I descend 4 notes from the higher Do , Do Si La Sol, Si La Sol Fa, La Sol Fa Mi. it is very important to understand the logic so that we understand beyond separate notes only, like letters; when we talk we don’t pay attention to the letters, the words have meaning, the letters seize to have meaning because we have practiced talking. Same thing here, we must think about the logic, so that in the later stages we think of phrases rather than notes. Let us take a look at exercise #1, first part *Play music* Do Re Mi Fa, next part, *Play music* third part *Play music* excuse me, second bar first part, now second part *Play music* last thing here*Play music* I am playing each part separately followed by Rest, it should sound like this *Play music* again Do up down up *Play music* Now, same logic but descending Do Si La Sol *Play music* notice that Si is up, now start from Si *Play music* from La *Play music* Sol *Play music* Fa *Play music* Mi *Play music* we reach Si, then Do. I will play starting from ascending exercise *Play music* the whole exercise slowly *Play music* a bit faster *Play music* This exercise after months of practice it will sound like *Play music* here we will start to understand the concept of flipped pick, why it achieves more speed, if I play it all down *Play music* the quality of the sound is completely different, and hand flexibility as well. Doing this, I can't achieve speed with the pick always down, but like this *Play music* Now I will play the same exercise on Bayat Re, because we need to practice all scales for our fingers to be able to play them all. Like this *Play music* Same thing, increase speed *Play music*
