__
Hello my name is Tareq Al Jundi from i3zif.com. today we will learn a longa called Shahrazad Longa by Abdul Wahab Belal. And Shahrazad is not the name of the scale, but some composers call the template after a certain name, for example Shahrazad Longa, and by Jameel Basheer we have Furaq Longa, and many other Longas named after people.
This longa is on Hijaz scale, Hijaz Re *Play music* let us read it with notes Re Sol Si La Sol Re Sol Si La Sol Si La Sol Do Si La La Sol Fa Sol La Re , Tati Ta Fa Ti Tati Ta Fa Ti Ta Fa Ti Ta Fa Ti Ta Fa TiFi Tati this is the first part, let us play the first line 3 4 *Play music* I have 2 things to say, 1st we can play Tati down down *Play music* imagine a question and answer. Or in another way, I will play it in bass and treble *Play music* imagine while playing that one person is asking and another answering, so we need emphasis, down down *Play music* Ta Fa Ti down up down, and stick with the picks *Play music* same thing here *Play music* we can do *Play music* we can break the rule here.
Look at the remaining Ta Fi Ta Fa ti Ta Fi Ta Fa ti Ta Fa ti Fi Ta Fa ti Fi Tati Ta, I will read it with notes La Sol La Si Do Si La Si Do Re Re Do Si La Sol Fa Mi Fa Re La Re, play it *Play music* from the top *Play music*this is the first verse, look at the chorus we have Sol Sol Sol Sol Sol Re, this is the first 2 bars, and I have this accacciatura on Fa #, look how we are going to play, we will hold Fa # and Sol, we place our hand on Fa # and hit Fa # and Sol with the same pick, *Play music* like this. We don’t want to emphasize the Fa # as much as the Sol, Sol is the important one *Play music* those are the first 2 bars, then Ta Fa ti Ta Fa Ti Tati Ta Fa Ti, I will read the first line in the chorus : Sol Sol Sol Sol Sol Re Si La Si La Sol La Re Re Do Si La 3 4 *Play music* the next bar : Mi Mi Re Do Re, Mi is ♭, *Play music* then Sol La Si Do Re *Play music* connect them together *Play music* then the last phrase, the closing phrase Sol Si La Sol Fa sol Mi Fa Re La Re *Play music* La and Re *Play music* like this so let us play the last phrase *Play music* the chorus *Play music*
We will repeat the first verse and chorus *Play music* this might be the hardest phrase *Play music* this is the last Tati Ta we will do *Play music*like this . let us practice the previous bar *Play music* the second verse, written here Ta Fi Tati Tati Tati Ta Fi Tati Tati Ta , then Ta Fa Ti Ta Fa Ti Ta Fa ti Ta Fa ti Tati Tati Ta Fa TiFi Ta Fa Ti . okay, let us read with notes Sol La Si La La Si Do La Si Do Re Do Fa Mi Re Do Re Mi Si Do Re La Si Do Sol La Si Fa Sol La Si Sol Mi Re Do Si La Sol , let us play *Play music* here we have a half position, why ? because I want to play *Play music* Fa in the fourth finger *Play music* here I go back to normal *Play music* or I continue in half position, from Do, Do Re Mi, I take Re in the first *Play music* the second verse *Play music* again *Play music* normal position *Play music* chorus *Play music* so here I played 2 options, if I want to play it in normal position, or totally in half position, and both work. As we said, we have in the Longa 4 verses, I will play first verse, chorus, second verse, and the next lesson we will play the third verse , chorus, fourth verse and chorus.
