9 - Application
Mr. Tareq kicks off the first part of the 9th lesson with an exercise to review all the information learned in the 8th lesson while keeping in mind the notes previously highlighted, as well as the previously learned rhythmic signs.
__
Hello my name is Tareq Al Jundi from i3zif.com. today in lesson no. 9 from the curriculum of Mr. Omar Abbad, we will learn an application on the note previously explained, the dotted noir, let us try to read the exercise along with the metronome on 52 tempo, 1 2 3 4 ta tifi ta, this was the first bars, I will try to read it with the notes Do Re Mi Fa, Re Mi Fa Sol, Mi Fa Sol La, Fa Sol La Si , Sol La Si Do. This was the first part, let us see the second part, same thing but replacing the dot with a tie Do Si La Sol, Si La Sol Fa, La Sol Fa Mi, Sol Fa Mi Re, Fa Mi Re Do. 1 2 3 let’s play.. 2 .. 2..2.. 2.. 2.. 2.. 2.. 2 things I want to remind you of, the first thing is that the tifi follows the metronome beat, let’s try with the first bar, 2, as you can see.. the second thing is that tifi has to be down up, again on the first bar down down up down, down down up down.. like this.. this is the first part of our lesson which needs to be practiced very well to move on to the next part which is an application and a song called Ya Ghzayyel.
The second part of our lesson today is the song Ya Ghzayyel Ya Bou EL Heba, from the heritage. As you can see we have an alternation sign which is the ♭ Si. As we learned the ♭ Si is Kurd La. What I want to say is a bit beforehand, this scale is not Kurd La, it is Ajam Fa, Ajam on the note Fa.. why is it not Kurd La? Because each Ajam scale has an accompanying Nahawand scale, and each accompanying Nahawand scale has an accompanying Kurd and Hijaz scale.. eventually all scales lead to each other, and connect together, each scale has many accompanying scale. This information will be revisited in the next course, but right now I wanted to draw your attention that you need to approach it naturally .. here we have ♭ Si, but later you will understand how it is Ajam Fa scale. If you notice the last note in the scale is Fa. Let us read this song together, 1 2 3 4 ta tifi tati ta fa tifi tati ta tifi tati ta fa tifi ta fa tifi, I will repeat with the notes Do Fa Sol Fa Sol Fa Sol Fa sol La La Sol La Sol Fa Sol Fa Mi Re Mi Fa Sol Fa, again , go Do Fa Sol Fa Sol Fa Sol Fa sol La La Sol La Sol Fa Sol Fa Mi Re Mi Fa Sol Fa, next Ta tifi ta ta tifi ♭ Si as you can see, then Do tifi ta tifi ta tifi ta. I will repeat the last 2 lines, Fa Mi Re Do Re Do Si La Do Si Do Re Do Re Mi Re Mi Fa. I have here Da Cappo Al Finale. Repeat from the top till finale, read it with the metronome 3 4 .. now repeat from the top , notice the stability of the fingers, Fa note, as you see in the signs. I want to talk about a couple of things, the first thing notice the firdash I did with the long notes , but I stayed in the same duration, the second thing is how I transfer from Do to Fa, I don’t tilt my hand , I play Do then move to Fa.. like this.. Do.. using the least amount of movement possible. Ya Ghzayyel song is one of the most beautiful songs sung by Fairuz. I will try to play it now a bit faster closer to, let’s say, its normal speed or tempo, 3 4 … this concludes the dotted noir followed by the 2 croches, and we applied many exercises, last of which was the song Ya Ghzayyel.
