14.1 - El Helwa Di Song
in lesson 14 we learn a new song called "El Helwa Di" by Sayyed Darwish which is one of the most popular songs in the arab world sung by many artists. It is an application of the notes explained in the previous lesson.
Tareq starts by explaining the musical note and the signs affecting the variation in sound during playing. He then starts reading the notes and rhythms, after which he plays the song gradually with the notes in preparation of playing it continuously while applying all the signs in the note and adding some ornamentation.

Hello my name is Tareq Al Jundi from i3zif.com. today in lesson no. 14 we will learn a very important application on te ta ti note we learned which is the song El Helwa Di.. let us look at the note we have, if we want to read it rhythmically with the metronome : 1 2 tati tati ta tati ta, tati ta, tati ta tati ta.. continue, tati tati ta ta tati ta ta tati tati tati ta, te ta ti ta tati ta tati ta tati ta tati ta tati ta tati ta tati ta tati ta ti ta tati ta. Rest.. this is the part we will work on now.. if we look at the scale key, we have ♭ Si and ♭ Mi.. we have also the # Fa within the piece which indicates that this scale is Hijaz Re, if we look at the end of the first part, at the Finale Re note. Let us read it with the metronome only this time with the notes: 1 2 3 4 Re Sol Fa Sol La Si La Sol La Sol Fa Sol Fa Mi Fa Mi Re Rest.. Re Sol Fa Sol La La , La La Re La Si La Sol Fa Sol La Si .. Si Si La Si Si La Si Do Si La La Sol La Si La Sol Sol Fa Sol La Sol Fa Fa Mi Fa Sol Fa Mi Re Mi Fa Mi Re .. continue.. Es ti tati ta ta tati tati ta, te ta ti ta ta tati tati ta te ta ti tati tati tati tati tati ta te ta ti tati tati tati tati ta , now from the es ti , right after finale sign, let us read with notes Es Sol Sol Fa Sol Sol La Sol Fa Mi Fa Re Fa Fa Fa Fa Sol Fa Mi Re Mi Do Mi Re Mi Fa Sol Fa Fa Mi Mi Re Mi Re Do Do Mi Re Mi Fa Sol Fa Fa Mi Mi Re Re. next La La La La Sol Fa Sol La Si La Sol La Sol Fa La La La La Sol Fa Sol La Si La Sol La Sol Fa Sol Sol Sol Sol Sol, La Sol Fa Mi Fa Sol. I will stop here. We will try to play it slowly, part by part after we read the rhythm and notes, first phrase … I want to remind you that in Hijaz scale that the space between ♭ Mi and # Fa is very critical.. from the top.. note the pick down down up down down up down.. second line.. tati tati ta ta, here we have tati ta ta.. notice how I moved my second finger from La to Re, almost like a bridge Tati Ta Ta, tati tati .. I will repeat from ♭ Si , Si La Sol Fa Sol La Si Si La Sol Fa Sol La Si Go, then te ta ti ta.. this note , down up down down, Si Si La Si Si La Si .. La Sol La down up down down up down down up down down up down, notice the space between ♭ Mi and Fa, my finger was stable Fa Mi Fa , tati ta ti ta, tati ta..now to the next part, from the es ti.. es ti tati ta ta, the es ti is up, es ti down up down down.. 2.. . notice the pick.. next Do Mi Re Mi Fa Sol Fa Fa Mi Mi Re Mi Re Do, next … Mi Fa Sol Fa Fa Mi Mi Re Re, next te ta ti tati tati .. next … then Sol Sol Sol Sol Sol, La Sol Fa Mi Fa Sol .. I will stop here because in the second part, after practicing this one, we will continue the last 2 lines and go back to Signo, because at the end we have Signo written, I will go back to Signo in the beginning and repeat till I reach the Finale sign.
