In lesson 11 Mr. Tareq starts with new exercises of the pick. those exercises get harder each time for the use of the pick in the right hand so that the player will master the skill of playing with the left and right hand equally. Mr. Tareq refocuses on starting slowly and correctly, then increasing the speed while maintaining the clarity of the notes and sound, and not to reach a high speed of playing unless playing slowly is done correctly. this exercise focuses on stability of the fingers and the direction of the pick while playing. __ Hello my name is Tareq Al Jundi from i3zif.com. Today in lesson no. 11, we will learn another pick exercise to increase flexibility in our right hand. Take a look at exercise no.2, we have Allegro, Allegro means fast, but we will not play it in high speed in the beginning. Notice how it is all on ta fa tifi : ta fa tifi ta fa tifi ta fa tifi ta fa tifi, and if I try to read it with the metronome , 3 4 Do Re Mi Fa Sol Mi Fa Re, a bit quick, let us read it slower, Do Re Mi Fa Sol Mi Fa Re , Do Re Mi Fa Sol Mi Fa Re, Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do, Sol La Si Do Re Si Do La, Sol La Si Do Re Si Do La , Sol La Si Do Re Si Do La, Si Sol La Fa Sol Mi Fa Re, we have the repeat sign, after which we have Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do, Re Do Si La Sol Fa Mi Re, Do Re Mi Fa Sol La SI Do, Si La Sol La Sol Fa Mi Re, we have a repeat sign, back from the previous one and then conclude with Do, let me try to play it slowly..the first bar ta fa tifi, Do Re Mi Fa Sol down, Mi Up, Fa down, Re up. The second bar is the same as the first. Then a Do to Do scale, then the second line Sol La Si Do, Re Si Do La, notice when I play the Re and Si, My fingers were stable, Then Sol La Si DO Re Si Do La is repeated, repeated 3 times, then Si Sol La Fa Sol Mi .. this Si Sol was down up down up down up down up , after the repeat sign , from Do to Do, then we have a descending Re to Re scale, Do to Do scale, then Si La Sol La, Sol Fa Mi Re, we conclude after the repeat sign with Do. Now we will play it with the metronome non-stop to have a full grasp of the exercise, 3 4 . this concludes another important exercise for the pick, we have to practice it and add it to the daily warm up exercises that we play to prepare for playing the oud.
