6 - a new rhythmic sign
In the sixth lesson we learn a new rhythmic sign Es TiFi. Mr. Tareq explains the duration of this sign and the direction of the pick while playing it. He moves on to applying the first exercise on this sign as rhythmic reading and playing. Mr. Tareq focuses on the skill of rhythmic reading and demonstrating it through clapping your hands before playing. This skill’s importance lies in the fact that it increases the musician’s sense of tempo to make sure that the rhythm is correct during playing. In the second exercise we start with a new application on the Es TiFi by reading and playing a simple melody written in various forms. __ Hello my name is Tareq Al Jundi from i3zif.com. today in lesson #6, we will learn a new note which is Es TiFi. Look at the paper, Es TiFi is derived from the Ta TiFi as you can see here. Ta tifi which we learned in the first lesson is like this down down up, ta tifi. If we play it on Sol cord. Down downup. If we remove the first part which has a value of 1/2 (croche) and replace it with a rest of value ½ , it will be Ta tifi , or Es Tifi, Es tifi, Es tifi,Es tifi.. if I try to read the first exercise Ta tifi Tati Es tifi Tati ta tifi ta fa tifi ta tifi ta tifi es tifi ta tifi ta fa ti ta tifi. Note the last bar we have the ta fa ti which down up down, ta fa ti, ta tifi ta fa ti es tifi es tifi ta fa tifi es tifi es tifi ta fa ti ta , ta es tifi es tifi ta. Let me try to play the es tifi with the metronome 1 2 es tifi es tifi es tifi es tifi es tifi , like this. If it was ta tifi, it will be like this.. es.. es..i will try to play it with the metronome on 52 tempo 1 2 ta tifi tati tifi tati.. es.. ta fa ti.. ta fa ti es… es.. es.. es..ta fa ti ta.. ta es tifi es tifi ta.. this is the first part of the lesson which I want to focus on learning how to play the es tifi, which is the same as the ta tifi without playing the first part, es..es.. like this. Look at the second part that we have here, an exercise which is an application, Twinkle song, but you will notice how we used the new units to play twinkle song and learn through it to apply those units. In the beginning we have Ta tifi ta tifi ta tifi ta es ta tifi es tifi es.. es .. es.. es.. es.. es tifi, es tifi, es tifi, es tifi, ta tifi ta tifi ta tifi ta es .. es.. es.. then ta fa tifi es tifi ta fa tifi ta, ta fa tifi es tifi ta fa tifi . let us try to play it with the metronome on 52 tempo 2 1 go ta tifi ta tifi ta tifi ta, es .. es..es.. es..es Sol Sol Fa Fa Mi Mi Re Do Do Do Do Sol Sol La La La La Sol Fa Fa Fa Fa es Mi Mi Ta Fa tifi Ta. As you can see , the Es tifi always follows the metronome beat, we played it slowly, we will attempt to play faster, the same tempo we played with the metronome which is 52 tempo. Next time we will have a bigger exercise and more inclusive on those notes and how to flip the pick, which will be our extensive exercise. See you in the next lesson.
