24 - Application on Treble and Bass
in lesson 24, we apply an exercise using alternation between the bass and treble notes; by using 2 cords as a repetitive pattern which is a very important exercise to learn to alternate between cords smoothly with your right hand, and also to memorize the correct locations of the notes and the precise location of the left hand fingers. Tareq focuses on playing slowly at first and mastering the tune and the clarity of the sound, then increasing the speed.

Hello my name is Tareq al jundi from i3zif.com. today in lesson no. 24 and the one before the last, we will learn a new technique on how to alternate between cords by playing bass and treble. Those exercises will be very important because this will increase the strength of my left hand and how to alternate, it will also increase the right hand flexibility and how to alternate between cords. If we look at this exercise which is an exercise on bass and treble we see the first bar where we have Sol and Sol, bass and treble, next is also Sol and Sol, second bar is La La, this La is the bass with the treble which is repeated twice, the next bar is Si Si.. it is very important here to hold my fingers on this Si and this Si, notice how my thumb moved. The next bar we have Do with Do, the next bar we have Re with Re, then Mi with Mi, then I go back. What is important here is tone calibration, to be correct, meaning Sol with Sol.. La with La.. some people might do this…. Calibration is very important.. Si with Si, this one is very important Si with Si.. Do with Do.. Re with Re, use calibration, Mi with Mi, same process.. La with La, Re with Re you will notice the same thing.. then we have Si with Si, then Mi with Mi, they must be the same sound. If we read this exercise, which is all down up down up… let us try to play it, first bar, I keep repeating it, the second bar, as slow as possible, because here we must focus on intonation , Si with Si , Do with Do, Re with Re, notice how I repeat the bar more than once, Mi with Mi, it is very important to hold the fingers.. now Re and Re again, Do with Do, Si with Si, La with La, Sol with Sol, like this..okay, as you can see the exercise is straight forward. The goal is to play all those notes easily, it is okay to look at your right hand while playing, Sol with Sol, La with La, keep repeating each bar, Si with Si, look at my right hand and my left hand, Do with Do, Re with Re.. Mi with Mi, and again.. later on we can play the exercise as we have it, to be tati tati on each 2 notes, like this.. again… the next exercise is derived from it, instead of playing 2 tati on the bass and treble, I will play only one. I will only move on to this after mastering the previous exercise slowly and I keep repeating the notes continuously.. the next exercise is Sol with Sol, La with La, Si with Si, Do with Do, Re with Re, Mi with Mi.. the next line is descending Re with Re, Do with Do, Si with Si, La with La, Sol with Sol, Sol with Sol.. now with the metronome, 1 2… again… this exercise , when I practice it, I should have practiced the one before. I have to reach higher speed in the previous exercise so that this one will be easier, if I play Sol with Sol… but speed should not overcome the clarity of the notes, because when I play the second exercise faster it will be like this.. I use this for daily warm up exercise, and you will notice that this exercise will be more advanced in the third course and the upcoming courses, we will play the notes chromatically, the colored scale to reach this.. practice very well, we have a very nice application in the next lesson.
