Welcome to i3zif.com, I am Majed Srour, and we have reached lesson #17, stay tuned and remember that we will play! This is our motto. Today we will be introduces to a brand new scale, Al Kurd scale. It is brand new for us to learn on the Zither, but it is a very popular and widely used scale, most of the songs we listen to now are on Al Kurd scale, some of the most beautiful ones, because it is famous for melancholy. This scale starts from Re to Re, very close to Al Bayyati, only a small difference between this one and Al Bayyati is in Mi. Mi is not ½ ♭Mi, it is a full ♭.its indication is ♭Mi and ♭Si. Mi is lowered by 2 degrees than it was in Do Major where it was fully lifted, so we lower it by 2 degrees, each degree= ¼ note, making Mi lowered by ½ note. Si is the same case. Let us here the scale now *Play music* this scale is similar to Al Bayyati, only difference is in Mi. *Play music* as usual we present the scale with a nice tune to enjoy it. We will play a simple track today on this scale, we will learn it today, it is today’s subject. A tune I think you all know , “Ahu Da Illi Sar” let us listen to it *Play music* today we have a new technique and a new exercise in singing, which is something we call in music *Conter* which is when your left hand precedes your right hand with the same note, like this for example *Play music* *Singing* *Play music* this is the new technique we will learn today, we learned Ferdash, hopping and scales, this is the new one in playing this track, let us pay more attention, and I will play it in slow motion for you to focus *Play music* Al Kurd scale is beautiful in its melancholy . here we learned the first part of the song, and as usual we will continue with our skills acquired from previous lessons. This is the beginning and it is up to you to complete it with what we learned. Stay tuned and see you next lesson.
