16 - Managing the mandals while playing
Changing and managing the mandals while playing the Qanun is the subject of this lesson with Mr. Majed. He applies it through playing the second verse of Nassam Alyna El Hawa by Fairuz.

Welcome to i3zif.com, I am Majed Srour, we have reached lesson #11, so great, and keep in mind, we will play, and we will play well, it is not an option. Today we will continue Al Ferdash, which we started 2 lessons ago, and we will add something today, how to manage the off-tunes in the middle of the track. If we face one within the scale, we convert it and the tune would go smoothly. We will continue today the track we started in the previous lesson “Nassam Alayna Al Hawa” and we will play the part where we may face off-tunes, let us listen to this *Play music* notice how we played conversions here, two to be exact , we changed the ♭Mito ½ ♭Mi, which is called a “Sika ”, and with the La, we did the same thing, ♭La to ½ ♭La, we raised it by ¼ a note, which is called a “Sika ” as well. Let us play it alone *Play music* this is the first conversion we faced, the second *Play music* this is the second one, we converted Mi and La. This is to learn that during playing we faced a conversion , the track is not all on one scale, we will face off-tunes, and we need to learn how to manage them while playing. I will play it separately now, all of it, so you can notice how we manage the off-tunes while playing *Play music*. notice where we change the off-tunes, our right hand is playing a tune away from the off-tune, just like this *Play music* when we left a distance with the Mi , * sound tune*, from the beginning of the Re, we started managing the Mi, while the right hand was playing Re Do Si La Sol Fa, Re Do Si La Sol, here our left hand is free and can lift the off-tune, also *Play music* Sol Mi Re Do, while the right hand was playing Sol Mi Re Do, we lifted the La. Because I can’t lift the off-tune while playing the scale, Fa Mi, if I lift it early, it will sound wrong, and the off-tune was out of place. I will wait until the scale is away from the Mi, and I lift the Mi *Play music* play like this exactly *Play music* Sol Mi Re Do, while playing Sol Mi Re Do, I lift the off-tune with my left hand, *Play music* this is the first lesson with off-tune conversion, I hope it is clear. Stay tuned and see you next lesson.
